Particulars:
The Plan: Renovate the historic “Westinghouse Castle” into a resort-style destination boutique hotel, event/ entertainment facility and restaurant.
The proposed hotel will feature:
- 40 guest rooms and suites ranging from approximately 300 square feet in floor space to more than 800 square feet
- Three ballrooms – two larger rooms of approximately 2,800 square feet and one medium size room of approximately 1,800 square feet
- Additional meeting/ dining spaces which will accommodate from 5 to 25 guests
- An upscale restaurant featuring outdoor dining
- Spa services and recreational facilities
The Building: Designed by noted architects Frederick Osterling (1890’s wing) and Benno Janssen (1920’s wing), the Westinghouse Castle is 45,000 square feet in size, with approximately 39,000 square feet of useable floor space.
The Grounds: The Westinghouse Castle sits on 2.2 acres located in Wilmerding Borough, Allegheny County, PA, approximately 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
